DELVING INTO THE S BLOCK: AN ELEMENT COUNT

The S block consists of the first column and Group 2 elements. These elements are known for their single valence electron(s) in their highest shell. Studying the S block provides a core understanding of atomic interactions. A total of 18 elements are found within this group, each with its own individual properties.
